What is Zumbini?
The new Zumbini™ program (launched in Spring 2013) combines the science of child development and the magic of Zumba®! Designed for children 0 to 3 years old and their caregivers, this program takes little ones on their first steps toward a healthy, active life. Together, adults and their young children wiggle, sing, and learn, for the ultimate bonding experience!
The Zumbini program is a high energy, fun, contemporary take on an old idea: mommy and me music and movement. However, this class is unique! The Zumbini class is different because all of the music is original, there is more movement than a typical early childhood education music and movement class, and guess what? Just as much value and bonding! Do keep in mind: the Zumbini class is NOT an exercise class or a fitness program.
The class is a mix of recorded music, live singing, and an opportunity to play instruments, giving the children and caregivers different ways to experience music and movement, one flowing into the next.
How long are the classes?
Each class is 45 minutes long and runs once a week for 8-12 weeks (called sessions). The sessions start in the FALL (Aug/Sept), WINTER (Jan), SPRING (Mar/Apr), and SUMMER (Jun/Jul).
How big are the classes?
Each class is determined by the size of the room but are typically between 6-12 kids.
What is a Zumbini Bundle?
Participants receive a Zumbini bundle on the first day of the session which they can take home and use outside of the class. The bundle consists of a colorful songbook, a story, and suggested activities. Of course, no songbook would be complete without the songs! So, also included are two copies of the CD that is used in the course. One copy is for the home and one for the car. This is such an integral part of the program because it allows your child to hear the music, the sounds, and watch you move just as we do in class. Repetition is key and will help your child (and you) feel more comfortable when they come back to class.
How and when do I pay for a session?
Each session has a link that will direct you to the appropriate registration page. You will be asked to pay when you register for the class. You must pay in full before attending the session.
All the classes are full. What can I do to get into a class?
If a class is full, please contact me by email. I will put you on a waiting list in case a family cancels. If there are enough people on the waiting list, I may add an additional class to accommodate.
Can I see a class before committing to a whole session?
Families can request via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) to attend one of the current session classes before signing up for the next session. There is no fee to try a class, but is limited to one class per family. You can also attend one of the scheduled Demo classes.
Can I bring anything with me to class?
This class is designed for your child to experience music and movement, but more importantly to create a bonding experience with you. Please leave all distractions outside the room such as cell phones, food and outside toys.
